Create your LoginDeck account

Sign up with an emailed code or with Google. Your password is also the key to your encrypted data, so choose it carefully.

On this page

LoginDeck asks you to sign in before the main window opens, on every plan, free included. That's what makes your deck available on your other computers. Creating the account takes a minute and doesn't ask for a card.

A fresh install opens straight onto Create your account. If the window says Sign in instead, click Create an account at the bottom.

📧 Sign up with an emailed code#

  1. Type your address in Email.
  2. Click Send code. The button reads "Sending…", then counts down as "Sent · 60s" before you can send another. A line appears under the field: "Sent to you@example.com. Check spam if it is not there in a minute — it expires in 15 minutes."
  3. Open the email. Its subject is "XXXX-XXXX is your LoginDeck code", from noreply@logindeck.com.
  4. Type the code into Verification code. Upper or lower case and the hyphen make no difference.
  5. Choose a Password. The hint under the field is the whole rule: At least 12 characters.
  6. Leave Keep me signed in on this computer ticked unless you want to type your password at every start.
  7. Click Create account. It says "Creating your account…", then "Signed in — starting LoginDeck", and the main window opens.

Your password is the key to your data

Your profiles, proxies and their passwords are encrypted with a key derived from this password. Use something you'll still have in six months, and don't reuse a password from elsewhere. If you do lose it, Forgot password can send you a code — see Forgot your password.

Code rules: a code lasts 15 minutes, allows 5 wrong attempts, and you can ask for another after 60 seconds. If it hasn't arrived, check spam, then click Send again.

🔵 Or continue with Google#

  1. Click Continue with Google.
  2. Your normal browser opens on Google's sign-in page. LoginDeck waits, showing "Finish with Google in your browser — press Esc to cancel".
  3. Pick your Google account. LoginDeck only asks Google for your email address.
  4. The browser page says Verified, and LoginDeck creates the account and opens.

There's no code to type and no password to choose.

A Google account has no password you know

The account is created around a random password nobody types, so Change password… inside the app can't be used. If you want a password of your own — to sign in without Google, or to sign in offline — use Forgot password? on the sign-in window once. See Change your password or email.

If the browser page says Sign-in stopped, your browser is on a different network from LoginDeck — a VPN or iCloud Private Relay in the browser will do that. Use the emailed code instead.

🙋 One free account per person#

The free plan is one account per person. It's counted in two ways:

  • Per computer. The first account used on a computer holds that computer's free plan. A second free account on the same machine is refused with "This computer already has a LoginDeck account (b•••@gmail.com). Sign in to it instead."
  • Per internet connection. While one free account is in use on a connection, another free account can't be used from there. Paid plans are never affected.

You can still create an account on a connection that's already taken — so a colleague can sign up in order to pay. Reinstalling LoginDeck, clearing its data or reinstalling Windows doesn't make it a new computer.

On a shared network — an office, a school, a café, a VPN — email support@logindeck.com and it can be sorted out. Full detail in The free plan.

🧾 Messages you might see#

"there is already an account with that email — sign in instead"

That address already has an account. The form switches itself to Sign in with the message shown as a warning — type your password, or use Forgot password?.

"Use a permanent email address. Throwaway inboxes cannot hold a LoginDeck account."

Disposable inbox domains are refused. Use an address you'll keep, since it's how a password reset reaches you.

"There is already an account for this inbox (b•••@gmail.com). Sign in to it instead."

An alias of the same inbox already has an account. Gmail dots and anything after a + are ignored, so me+ld@gmail.com and m.e@gmail.com are the same inbox as me@gmail.com. Existing accounts aren't merged or renamed.

"This computer already has a LoginDeck account (b•••@gmail.com). Sign in to it instead."

This computer's free plan belongs to that account. Sign in to it, upgrade this account to a paid plan — paid plans work on any computer — or email support@logindeck.com if someone else genuinely shares the machine and needs their own free account.

"Too many new accounts from this internet connection. Try again tomorrow, or email support@logindeck.com."

There's a daily cap on new accounts per connection. Wait a day, or email support.

"too many attempts — wait a minute and try again"

A rate limit on the server, counted per internet connection. Wait a minute.

"Update LoginDeck to create an account: this version cannot tell which computer it is on."

The app is too old to take part in the one-account-per-person check. Install the current version and try again.

ℹ️ Good to know#

  • The code proves the address is yours. Until you enter it, nothing has been created, and nobody can create an account with your address without it.
  • Closing the sign-in window quits LoginDeck. There's no signed-out mode.
  • Nothing to pay. The window footer says it plainly: "Free plan · 10 profiles · no card".
  • Next step: Quick start: your first profile in five minutes.
