Use LoginDeck on another computer
Sign in on a second machine to get your profiles there, how many computers each plan covers, and why a team's computers count too.
On this page
Your account is what carries your profiles, so a second computer needs nothing except LoginDeck installed and your email and password.
π» Set up a second computer#
- Install LoginDeck on the other machine. See Install LoginDeck on Windows.
- On the sign-in window, enter the same email and password you use on the first computer, and press Sign in. Don't create a second account β a second account is a second set of profiles.
- Leave it a minute. Sync runs as soon as you're in, and your profiles, folders, tags, saved proxies and Flows arrive. If you'd rather not wait, open Account in the sidebar and press Sync now.
- Give the machine a name you'll recognise: Account β Your computers β This computer is called β Rename. That name is what your other computers show when a profile is already open here.
On a paid plan the profiles arrive signed in as well, as long as you closed their browsers on the first computer first. See What syncs between your computers.
Extensions don't travel
A profile remembers which extensions it uses, but the extension files stay on the computer that added them. Add the same extensions to this machine's library and the profile will use them again.
π’ How many computers each plan covers#
| Plan | Computers |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 |
| Pro | 3 |
| Team | 10 |
| Custom | 25 |
A computer drops off the count 30 days after it was last used, so replacing a laptop sorts itself out without you doing anything.
Things that do not count as a new computer: reinstalling Windows, reinstalling LoginDeck, or signing in as a different Windows user on the same machine. LoginDeck recognises the hardware.
π₯ A team's computers count against the owner's limit#
This is the part that surprises people. The computer limit belongs to the workspace owner's plan, and every computer that works in that workspace counts β the owner's machines and each member's machine.
A full Pro team is over Pro's computer limit
Pro includes 3 team members but only 3 computers in total, including yours. An owner plus three members on three separate PCs is four computers, so the fourth person to sign in will be refused. Team covers 10 members on 10 computers; Custom stays at 25 computers whatever the member count.
If you need a member on every machine, size the plan by computers, not just by members. See How teams work and Plans and what each one includes.
π« "Computer limit reached"#
When a machine can't use the account, LoginDeck frosts the window over and shows one card. With the limit reached it reads This account is already on 3 computers β "Pro covers 3 computers, and this one would be one more. Upgrade for more computers, or keep using the account on the ones it is on."
Your ways out:
- Upgrade for more computers opens the Billing page.
- See this account's computers opens the Account page, where Your computers lists every machine and when each was last seen.
- Wait. A computer you've stopped using drops off 30 days after its last use.
Nothing on the blocked computer is deleted, but while it's blocked it can't open profiles either β the Run button, Flows, warm-up and the local API all stop. The window is frosted over except for the Billing and Account pages, so you can always upgrade or switch accounts from it. There's more in "Computer limit reached".
On Free, there is a second rule
The free plan is one account per person, counted both by computer and by internet connection. A second free account on the same PC, or on the same connection, is refused. See The free plan.
ποΈ Removing a computer#
There's no button for it. Two things work instead:
- Leave it. It stops counting 30 days after its last use.
- Change your password. That signs out every other computer immediately β the way to handle a lost or stolen machine. It doesn't remove the computer from the list, and it doesn't touch the profiles already on its disk. See Change your password or email.
βΉοΈ Good to know#
- A profile can only be open on one computer at a time. The other machine sees a lock and the name of the computer holding it. See When someone else has a profile open.
- Schedules don't travel. If you want a Flow to run nightly on both machines, switch the schedule on on both. See Run Flows on a schedule.
- Windows and Mac mix freely. The same account works on both, and cookies move between them correctly, because they're written back through the browser rather than copied as a file.
- The Computers signed in meter can look wrong. It counts every computer on your list, while your plan counts only the ones used in the last 30 days, so it can read fuller than your account really is. See Your Account page, explained.
β Common questions#
Do I need to export anything to move to a new computer?
No. Sign in on the new computer and your profiles arrive. Exporting to a file is for backups and for moving between accounts. See Back up profiles to a file and import them again.
Will my profiles arrive logged in?
On Pro, Team and Custom, yes β provided you closed the profile's browser on the first computer, which is when the snapshot is taken. On Free the profile arrives as the same identity but logged out.
I reinstalled Windows. Does that use up a slot?
No. The same hardware counts as the same computer.
