How teams work

Your workspace, the people you invite into it, what each plan includes — and why your members' computers count against your computer limit.

On this page

A workspace is one account's profiles, proxies, folders, tags and Flows. Your account owns yours. Inviting someone gives them a key to it from their own LoginDeck account, so you never hand out your password.

Team members are part of Pro, Team and Custom.

Free doesn't include team members — the Teams page says "Free does not include team members. Pro and up can invite people."

🧱 The model#

  • You are the owner. You buy the plan, you decide who's in, and you can change or withdraw anyone's access at any time.
  • Each member has their own account — their own email and their own password. Their own account can be on Free; what they work in is your plan.
  • They get a key to your workspace, wrapped so only their account can open it. Removing someone deletes one row on the server. Nobody else is disturbed and nothing is re-encrypted.
  • Their own profiles stay separate. A joined workspace has its own profile list and its own folders on disk. Switching between workspaces switches the whole app over.
  • Permissions are enforced by the server, which decides what each member is sent. It isn't done by encryption, so anything that has already reached a member's computer stays on their computer even after you remove them.

🔢 Seats, by plan#

A seat is one person on top of you.

The Teams page shows where you stand — "2 of 3 seats used."

Members' computers count against your computer limit

The computer limit belongs to your plan and counts every computer that works in the workspace: yours and each member's. That means a full Pro team is already over Pro's computer limit — you plus three members on three PCs is four computers, and the fourth machine to sign in is refused with "Computer limit reached".

If everyone needs their own machine, size the plan by computers as well as seats. Team covers 10 members on 10 computers. Custom stays at 25 computers at every member count, including 100 members.

See Use LoginDeck on another computer and Plans and what each one includes.

🎚️ What you control, and what you don't#

You choose a level per member — Can run, Can edit or Full access — and a scope: Selected folders, or Whole workspace. The full picture is in What members can see and do.

Three things are shared across the whole workspace no matter how narrow a member's folder access is:

  • the proxy library, including proxy passwords — anyone who can run a profile receives its proxy password, because their browser needs it to connect
  • every folder name and every tag name
  • every Flow

Plan for that when you decide who to invite.

🚪 What members can't do#

  • See or manage the team
  • Buy the plan or change it — Billing tells them "member — the workspace owner manages billing"
  • See your computer list or your invoices
  • Change your password or close your account (those buttons are hidden while they're in your workspace)

They can see the plan's limits and the AI allowance, so the app can explain a refusal rather than just failing.

📉 If you downgrade#

Nothing is deleted. Members beyond the new seat count are blocked — the most recent joiners first — with "that workspace's plan has no seat for you right now — ask the owner". The roster is kept, so upgrading again lets them straight back in. Profiles over the new limit are locked rather than removed. See Upgrade or change your plan.

ℹ️ Good to know#

  • A profile can only be open on one computer at a time, across the whole team. See When someone else has a profile open.
  • LoginDeck AI inside your workspace comes out of your allowance, and a member needs an edit grant across the whole workspace to use it: "AI actions in this workspace need an edit grant across the whole workspace — ask the owner".
  • Removing a member also rotates the key your phone proxies use, so their copy stops working.
  • There's no "leave workspace" button. A member can switch back to their own workspace, but only you can remove them from yours.
  • Hard ceilings: 200 members on an account and 50 invites outstanding at once. Invites expire after 14 days.

❓ Common questions#

Do my members need to buy their own plan?

No. They create a free LoginDeck account and join your workspace. Your plan is what they work under.

Do their computers really count against my limit?

Yes — every computer used in your workspace counts against your plan's computer limit, not just yours. It's the most common reason a new team hits "Computer limit reached".

Can I stop a member from seeing my proxy passwords?

Not if they can run a profile that uses the proxy — the browser on their machine needs the credentials. If that's a problem, give them profiles on proxies you're willing to share.

What happens to their copy of my profiles if I remove them?

Access stops immediately, but whatever already synced to their computer stays on their computer. If the relationship has ended badly, change the passwords on the accounts they were running.

Can two members open the same profile at the same time?

No. One computer at a time per profile, and the other person sees which machine has it.

Can a member invite someone else?

No. Only the owner can invite, edit access or remove people.
