Open, stop and show profiles
Run a profile in its own browser window, bring it to the front, stop it cleanly, or open and close many at once.

Running a profile opens a browser window with that profile's cookies, proxy and fingerprint. Stopping it closes the window and saves its logins for next time. You can run as many profiles side by side as your computer can handle.
▶️ Open a profile#
- In the left sidebar, click All profiles.
- On the profile's row, click Run. While the browser starts, the button shows a small card animation.
- The browser window opens and the button changes to Stop. The Status column says running.
When the proxy's location is known, a message confirms it, for example "Running — Toronto, Canada (America/Toronto)".
You can also open a profile from its row menu: click ⋯ on the right of the row, then Run.
Each profile gets its own taskbar button
On Windows, every running profile has its own button on the taskbar, labelled with the profile's name, so you can tell ten Chrome windows apart.
🪟 Bring a running profile to the front#
On Windows, a running profile has a Show button (a small window icon) just left of Stop. Click it to bring that profile's window to the front.
- "This profile has no open window. Its browser may still be starting." means the window isn't there yet. Wait a moment and try again.
- "Windows blocked the switch. Open the profile from its taskbar button." means Windows refused to change focus. Click the profile's taskbar button instead.
On a Mac there is no Show button. Use the Dock or ⌘+Tab.
⏹️ Stop a profile#
Click Stop on the row, or ⋯ → Stop. LoginDeck closes the browser the same way its own close button does, so cookies and open tabs are saved. If the browser hasn't closed after 8 seconds, it's closed by force.
Closing the browser window yourself works too.
🧺 Open or close many at once#
- Tick the box at the start of each row you want. The header box ticks every row currently shown.
- In the bar at the bottom of the screen, click Run or Stop.
Profiles start one after another, a moment apart. At the end you'll see a summary such as "Started 12", or "Started 11, 1 failed" with the first reason. Profiles locked by your plan are skipped. See Change many profiles at once.
🔒 If the profile is open on another computer#
A profile can only be open in one place at a time. If another computer (yours or a teammate's) has it open, the Status column shows 🔒 and that computer's name. Clicking Run opens a dialog titled That profile is open on another computer.
- Click Open here anyway only if that computer has crashed, gone to sleep, or you're sure nobody is using it. The profile opens here and closes on the other computer.
- Otherwise, cancel. If the other computer stops using it, its claim runs out by itself within a few minutes.

🚫 If it doesn't open#
- A lock icon instead of Run means your plan has locked this profile. Click the lock to see why. See "Free is full", locked profiles and other plan messages.
- A dialog titled "The profile did not open" gives the reason. Its Open logs folder button opens the log from that attempt, which is the file to send support.
- A proxy that's down doesn't make LoginDeck switch to your own connection. Pages just fail to load until the proxy works again.

ℹ️ Good to know#
- The first time a profile uses a browser version that isn't on your computer yet, it's downloaded first. A bar near the bottom of the app shows the progress.
- If the proxy's location couldn't be looked up at launch, you'll see a message that the profile "opened on its stored clock". Check the proxy, then stop and run the profile again. See Check proxies and see where they exit.
