Default settings for new profiles
Set what every new profile starts with — name, engine, operating system, language and start page — so you stop repeating yourself.
If most of your profiles are set up the same way, set that up once. Profile defaults decides what a new profile starts with, whether you make it in the editor or in a batch. Profiles you already have are never touched.
⚙️ Change the defaults#
- At the bottom of the left sidebar, click Settings.
- Click Profile defaults.
- Change what you want. Every field saves as you change it — there's no Save button.
You can also get there from the New Profile menu: click the arrow next to the button, then Edit default profile settings.

Reset to defaults puts everything back to the out-of-the-box values ("Profile defaults reset").
The name field only numbers batches
When you click New Profile, the name box starts empty so you can type a real name. The default name is used by Add multiple profiles and by a Quantity batch. See Create many profiles at once.
🚫 What defaults don't cover#
These are per-profile choices, so they're not here:
- Proxy. Every new profile starts with No proxy. See Give a profile a proxy.
- Folder and tags. A profile made with New Profile while a folder is open lands in that folder; batches don't.
- Timezone. Always starts as Match the exit IP, which is the right setting almost always. See Timezone and language follow your proxy.
- Profile type and the masking settings on the Advanced tab.
- Browser version. New profiles always start on the newest version LoginDeck offers. See Chrome or Firefox, and which browser version.
Defaults are saved on this computer
They're not part of your account and they don't sync. Set them again on each computer you use. Your profiles do sync — just not this settings page.
ℹ️ Good to know#
- Changing a default never changes an existing profile. It only affects what's created next.
