Invite people to your team
Create an invite code, pick the folders and level it carries, send it, and change or withdraw someone's access later.
On this page
Inviting someone creates a one-time code. They sign in to their own LoginDeck account, paste the code, and your workspace appears in their list.
Team members are part of Pro, Team and Custom.
On Free the Teams page reads "Free does not include team members. Pro and up can invite people." and there's no Invite member… button.
✉️ Create an invite#
- In the left sidebar, click Teams.
- Click Invite member….
- Type their address in Their email address.
- Under Give access to, choose Selected folders (the default) or Whole workspace.
- Set the level:
- Selected folders — tick one box per folder you want them in: Can run, Can edit or Full access. Ticking one unticks the others in that row. There's a No folder row for profiles you haven't filed.
- Whole workspace — pick one level for Everything, including folders you make later.
- Click Create invite. You'll see "Invite created for va@example.com." and a Send them this code box.
- Click Copy code and send it to them.
The code is shown once
LoginDeck keeps no copy of it. Send it the way you'd send a password, and if it goes astray, cancel that invite and issue a new one.
An invite code isn't tied to the email you typed
Anyone signed in to LoginDeck who holds the code can accept it, whatever address it was meant for. Send it over a channel you trust, and cancel it (the × on its row) if you're not sure it arrived with the right person.
📋 Reading the Members table#
| Column | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Member | Their email. Your own row comes first with a you pill. |
| Role | Owner for you, Member for everyone else. |
| Access | A summary — "whole workspace — edit", or "Client A — run, no folder — edit". Yours reads "Everything — the whole workspace". |
| Status | Active once they've joined, Invited while the code is outstanding, Expired after 14 days. |
| Added / Last seen | When you invited them, and when their app last checked in — "not yet" until they join. |
The footer counts it up: "3 members · 1 invite pending". The seat line by the Members heading shows "2 of 3 seats used."
✏️ Change what someone can reach#
Click the Edit access (pencil) icon on their row. The same form opens with their email locked, and the button reads Save access. You'll get "Access updated for va@example.com."
The change takes effect on their app's next request — within a sync round, not instantly on their screen.
🚫 Remove someone#
Click Remove from the team on their row and confirm. They lose access immediately.
What's already on their computer stays there
Removing someone stops them receiving anything new. It doesn't reach onto their machine. If the relationship has ended badly, change the passwords on the accounts they were running.
To withdraw an invite that hasn't been used, click the × (Cancel this invite) on its row. That one doesn't ask for confirmation.
⚠️ Messages you might see#
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Who is it for?" | Fill in the email address. |
| "Tick at least one folder, or give them the whole workspace." | Set a level on at least one row. |
| "Pro covers 3 team members. Move up a plan to add another." | You're out of seats. See Plans. |
| "Free does not include team members. Pro and up can invite people." | Upgrade to invite anyone. |
| "that person is already on this workspace" | They're on the list — use Edit access instead. |
| "that is your own address" | You already have full access. |
| "too many invites outstanding" | Up to 50 at once. Cancel some. |
| "switch to your own workspace to manage its team" | You're inside someone else's workspace. Go to Account → Workspaces and switch back. |
ℹ️ Good to know#
- Invites expire after 14 days. An expired row shows Expired; cancel it and make a new one.
- Their computer counts against your computer limit. A full Pro team is over Pro's 3 computers. See How teams work.
- Anyone who can run a profile gets its proxy password, because their browser needs it. The invite form says so.
- Only you can invite. Members can't see or manage the team at all.
- Send them Join a team and switch workspaces along with the code.
❓ Common questions#
Does LoginDeck email the invite for me?
No. You copy the code and send it yourself, however you like.
I sent the code to the wrong address. Can I stop it?
Yes — click the × on that invite's row to cancel it, then create a new one. Do it promptly, because the code works for whoever holds it.
Can I invite someone who doesn't have LoginDeck yet?
Yes. They install it, create their own free account, then paste the code. See Create your LoginDeck account.
Can I give someone access to just one folder?
Yes — that's what Selected folders is for. Note they'll still see every folder name, every tag and the whole proxy library. See What members can see and do.
How do I see whether they've actually joined?
The Status column changes from Invited to Active, and Last seen starts showing a time.
